Everything Atelier does, in the order you need it

Atelier runs one path: an idea becomes a design, the design becomes a tech pack, the tech pack goes out to factories, a factory makes samples, samples become a production run, and the run goes on sale. The sections below follow that path. Skip any of them, do them out of order if you like, but this is the shape the app was built around.

The review is meant to be harsh
A good-looking sketch with nothing decided scores in the 30s. That is the intended behaviour. It asks one question: could someone else write a tech pack from this drawing without coming back to ask what you meant?

Measurements and grading
Tech Packs → Measurements
A graded spec sheet: points of measure down the side, sizes across the top. Set a base size and a grade rule per point of measure and the rest of the run is calculated; type over any cell and that number stays yours. Tolerances, inches or centimetres, standard point-of-measure sets per garment type, and a field for which standard or fit block the sizes follow. Atelier ships size labels, never measurements — the numbers are your block, not a published table.

A product below 80% readiness is blocked from sending an RFQ. A checkbox lets you send it anyway. The gate is there to make you look before you commit a factory’s time, and it will step aside when you are sure.

Avoid a flat size curve
Give every size the same quantity and you will usually sell out of the middle sizes while the ends sit and get marked down. Atelier flags a flat curve and offers a benchmark shape to edit. Treat the benchmark as a starting point; your own sell-through beats it as soon as you have any.

Production OS for independent clothing brands

Apparel production management software for independent clothing brands

Atelier takes a clothing design from rough sketch to manufactured, sellable product. It keeps your tech packs, manufacturers, quotes, samples, production orders and sales in one workspace instead of scattered across spreadsheets and inboxes.

Every stage of making a product, on one sheet

  1. Concept

Capture the idea, the reference images and the target customer before anything gets drawn.

  2. Design

Sketch or upload artwork on a real layered canvas, with version history for every save.

  3. Tech Pack

Generate a full tech pack — bill of materials, measurements, construction, trims, labels, packaging — and edit every section by hand.

  4. Sourcing & RFQ

Search for manufacturers by material, category, location, minimum order quantity and certification, then send a request for quote.

  5. Sampling

Track each sample round against a checklist so nothing goes to production on a guess.

  6. Production

Follow the order through the factory with dates, costs and status on one timeline.

  7. Launched

Connect your storefront and see what the product actually did once it shipped.

Frequently asked questions

What is apparel production management software?

Apparel production management software tracks a garment from first sketch to finished, sellable product. It holds the tech pack, the manufacturers you are talking to, the quotes they send back, each sample round, and the production order itself — so the current state of a style lives in one place instead of across spreadsheets, email threads and screenshots.

What is a tech pack?

A tech pack is the specification a factory builds from. It covers the bill of materials, graded measurements, construction details, trims, labels, packaging and any compliance notes. Without one, a manufacturer is guessing, and every guess turns into a sample round you pay for.

Do I need this if I only make a few styles a year?

A small line is where the cost of a mistake hurts most. One avoidable sample round or one wrong fabric order is usually more than a year of software. Atelier has a free tier for planning your first product.

Does Atelier use AI, and can I trust what it writes?

Yes — for drafting tech packs, extracting vendor details from listings and emails, estimating quote economics, and answering questions about your own workspace. Every AI output is a draft you review and edit. Nothing is applied to your data without you seeing it first.

Can I use my own manufacturers?

Yes. Add vendors by hand, import them from a listing URL or a forwarded email, or find new ones through search. Nothing is limited to a partner network.
